Canoe Trip Camping

We have prepared canoe trip camping lists for a seven day trip for four people that represents some of our personal choices.

You can use our lists as a guide and adapt them to your own needs. Our experience has shown these supplies meet nutrition, cooking, personal, campsite and general enjoyment needs.

The links listed below will take you to our suggested lists and then to printer friendly pages that you can have as a handy reference when planning your next trip.

  • Food - including Meal Planner
  • Campsite and Cooking Utensils
  • Clothing/Personal Items
  • Of course the first item you need is a canoe. We suggest you take three paddles per canoe in case one breaks or is lost. You will need 20-30 feet of nylon rope, a patch kit, a large plastic drinking cup to use as a bailer, a large sponge for wiping down debris, 6 small bungie cords, and life jackets for each person in the canoe.

And what's a canoe trip without doing some fishing? Be sure you have your fishing rod and appropriate lures along. Bring an extra reel and fishing line just in case. And have gloves to handle those slippery fish when you catch them. We suggest that you check the area you area where you are planning your trip so you are aware of any licensing rules, catch limits, and catch and release regulations as the laws vary from province to province.

Be safe and happy canoeing! Canoeing
